It has a little tab on the bottom that you push straight up to lock the door handle from the inside. It's great when the last customer leaves and you want to lock the door quickly. When you push the tab up, anyone who comes up to the truck and tries to open the door will not be able to operate the handle, it is frozen in place. To open the door from the inside, just grab and move the web handle, the tab will release. However, don't push the tab up as a way to lock the door when you leave the truck, you will get locked out. You will not able to get in from outside with the key.
|Fits: This latch is for sliding doors only and fits Utilimaster, Supreme, Grumman, Morgan Olson, Union City, and Timpte Alfred bodies with a sliding door 1986 - current (does not work on the swingout door). |
Stats: Die-cast zinc easy grip handle; malleable iron tongue action offers secure closing; refined mechanism unlocks easily. Maximum projection 3-13/32".
Special Notes: This latch is also available with a standard handle, which is not as wide as this paddle handle (see our part DS4000). The Paddle handle is what came originally came on the Grumman body, but it may have been replaced with the latch with a more slender handle, so don't be surprised if you see it on your truck.
